ABOUT SCHOOL

Samcholing Lower Secondary School was segregated on 22nd February, 2009 coinciding with the Fifth King’s Birth Anniversary from Kuenga Rabten Lower Secondary School. The upper sections of two independent schools, Kuenga Rabten LSS and Samcholing Community School, merged to form Samcholing LSS. It was inaugurated by Mr. Lungten Dorji, the then Dasho Dzongdag of Trongsa on the above date. The classes commenced in full swing from 9th March, 2009 till 2011. From the academic year 2012, the school was up-graded to Samcholing Middle Secondary School. The school also started boarding facilities from 2013 with 120 girls and 120 boys. Again it is upgraded to Higher Secondary school from 2020 with three sections of XI Arts (96 students: 45 Boys and 51 Girls).

It is located in the upper village of Samcholing under Draagteng Gewog above the historic Samdrupcholing palace of Azhi Pem Dechen Wangchuk. It lies above the national highway between Trongsa and Zhemgang, about 29 km from Trongsa town. The school campus is 4.210 acres.
